We love to visit farms and host guests here! It’s so interesting and inspiring to see other people’s perspectives on farming.

Agreed! There is so much to be gained and so much community to be built with face to face meet ups! What region or growing zone are you located in?

So fun! How can florists build relationships with farmers if they aren't able to visit the farms like you did?

There are are so many great ways to build relationships with farmers even if you can’t visit their farm.

Order Direct From Farmers When You Can: Farmers appreciate when florists support them by buying directly from them when they need flowers. Even without in-person visits, this creates a direct connection.

Engage on Social Media: Comment on farmers posts, share their stories, and cheer them on publicly. It builds rapport and keeps you connected to what’s happening on the farm.

Meet at the Market: If farmers attend a market near you, popping by their stall—even occasionally—can help strengthen the relationship.

Invite Them Into Your World: Share photos of how you used their flowers, tag them in your designs, or feature them in your newsletters or social posts. Farmers love seeing where their flowers end up.

Say Thank You: It sounds simple, but regular thank yous—whether by text, email, or a handwritten note—goes a long way to building a relationship.

Ellen, that day will go down as one of my faves!! I learned sooooo much from Seaberry and it just wouldn’t have happened if you and Dave didn’t arrange it because if it’s not on fire, it doesn’t get my attention 😝 I am so grateful for the connections - and to finally have you out to the farm!!!!
